How do I add page numbers to a PDF?
Upload your PDF, choose where the numbers go and how they look, and check the live preview. When you are happy, click Add page numbers and then Download.
Which number formats are available?
You can choose 1, Page 1, 1 of 10, or Page 1 of 10.
Can I choose where the numbers appear?
Yes. Place them at the top or bottom of the page, on the left, in the center, or on the right. You can also set the font size, the distance from the edge, and the text color.
Can I skip the cover page?
Yes. Under Pages, pick Choose pages and enter a range such as 2-10 to leave the first page without a number. Numbering starts at First number, 1 by default, on the first numbered page.
Can numbering start from a number other than 1?
Yes. Set First number to any value, which is useful when your PDF continues a longer document.
What happens with rotated pages?
Page numbers are always placed the right way up, even on pages that are rotated in the PDF.
Will bookmarks, links, and form fields still work?
Yes. Bookmarks, links, and form fields in your PDF are kept. Only the page numbers are added.
Do I need an account to use this tool?
You can upload a PDF and set up your page numbers without an account. To download the numbered PDF, sign in and choose a plan. Plans start with a one-week pass that does not renew automatically.
